About the show
One guest · one stall · 35–40 minutes · video · every other week
Growth rarely fails for twenty reasons. It usually fails for one — and most teams spend their worst quarter fixing the wrong thing first.
Every episode of The Stall Point is one leader telling one story with unusual honesty: the moment growth stopped, what everyone thought was broken, what was actually broken, what the fix cost, and what moved.
Prep done properly
We arrive knowing each story cold — the dates, the numbers, the quarter it turned. No guest is ever asked “so, tell me about yourself.” Episodes are edited for clarity and length, never meaning. The failure beat gets time, not a transition.
Alex Mooney
Alex has spent more than a decade building global go-to-market and partnership programs — the kind that have produced billions in revenue for the businesses behind them.
The work is diagnostic more than anything else: finding the one constraint actually holding a company back, usually while the team is busy fixing something else. How revenue behaves across the whole funnel — traffic through NRR, CAC, churn, expansion — and what has to change before the number moves.
He started The Stall Point because the most useful conversations he has are the ones where an operator drops the tidy version and says what the quarter actually felt like.
One constraint. Three operators. Your problem.
Regular episodes look backward: a leader tells the story of a stall they already broke through. Once a month we point the same lens at a problem someone is living right now.
A listener sends in the constraint they are stuck on. Alex is joined by Aaron Cother, CEO of Gambit GTM, and two guests who have broken through something similar — and the four of them work it: how to spot this kind of constraint early, what it looks like before the numbers move, and what the people who got out of it actually did.
Submissions are anonymised unless you tell us otherwise, and we only run one a month.
A short note every other week — one constraint, what it cost, and a link to the full write-up if you want the long version.
